Geoffrey Harkin emailed“ Can you please pass on the sad news that Mike Henry, a veteran of some 34years, sadly passed away last week and I attended his funeral today in Dromana. Mike had been ill for some time. You could not meet a more genuine & decent person than Mike. Mikes last branch as Manager from memory was Mornington before the major branch restructure back in the late 90’s where he took advantage of early retirement. Mike will be sadly missed by his family and the communities of Safety Beach and Dromana where he was very active in volunteer work. Many may remember Mike as a VFL umpire back in the 70’s, umpiring some 88 VFL senior games from 1971 to1977, many of those games where when only one umpire controlled the game. He retired from umpiring due to having a young family and promotion in his career at the bank. Vale Mike”
